TESTING Vicat Apparatus, Hand-operated.
According to AS/NZS 2350.4
Vicat testing determines the consistency or softening points of materials with no defined melting point, such as cement. It determines a sufficient time frame for each mixture to harden. This is important to assess cement consistency as well as its initial and final setting time.
Vicats consist of three main components:
- A frame with base, upright and graduated scale
- A plunger assembly with needle(s), weight(s) and adjustable indicator
- An appropriate mould and glass plate
NOTE: This model has been factory-modified to meet the Australian specifications: AS/NZS 2350.3 and AS/NZS 2350.4
The original model (1.0303) meets ASTM C187-191.
The equipment is supplied complete with:
- (1) Initial-set needle square 1 mm, length 50 mm
- (1) Consistency plunger 10 mm dia.
- (1) Vicat mould 75/82 inner dia. x 40 mm
- (1) Thermometer
- (1) Glass plate 110×110 mm
