Description
COMMAND Center Temperature/maturity Smart Sensor
The COMMAND Center™ concrete temperature and maturity system measures and logs concrete temperature history, calculate maturity, and evaluates in-place strength. The system employs small, self-powered sensors placed in fresh concrete that automatically measure temperature data at predetermined intervals and store data internally. Data is retrieved from the sensors and analyzed with free COMMAND Center™ software, which can display temperature and temperature differential data, automatically provide calibrated maturity curves based on break data entered by the user, and calculate and display maturity and corresponding strength data of in-place concrete as it cures.
COMMAND Center™ Sensors carefully measure and store temperature readings at fixed intervals depending on your specific needs for monitoring concrete temperature and strength gain.
Features:
- Small, self-powered sensors continuously collect and store data for two years, under warranty.
- One sensor used for both temperature and maturity.
- Sensors do not require initialization in the field.
- Customize sensor lengths and time interval settings.
Thermocouples Vs Smart Sensors:
- The COMMAND Center’s “Smart Sensors” are not just “thermocouples” as they do a lot more than that. Each unit has a temperature sensor, a battery and a data logger, which will record data at designated intervals. The SRM reader is used to extract the data from the sensors and interface with your mobile device or computer.
- The thermocouple is less expensive, but they need to be connected to external dataloggers to read the data in real-time. Data loss and safety is more of a concern.
- With our system, many smart sensors can be installed and use one reader/transmitter, since the sensors store data internally. This would represent a very important saving compared with other systems.
- Using the supplied App, you also get access to a free Cloud-based account, where all the data will be stored once downloaded from your smartphone.
- Store data is always available on the cloud and can be shared with others.
- With a single SRM, you could manage as many sensors as you would like. Note that you don’t need the SRM connected for data logging, as all the data is recorded in the actual sensor. The SRM is just an interface between the sensor and your mobile/tablet/PC.
See video of how it works.
Multiple sensors can be connected to the same SRM.
Sensors and SRM are sold separately.
Sensor Lengths
COMMAND Center™ Sensors are available in five standard lengths:
- 4 ft (1.22 m) – Part # 301006-X4
- 8 ft (2.44 m) – Part # 301006-X8
- 15 ft (4.57 m) – Part # 301006-X15
- 30 ft (9.14 m) – Part # 301006-X30
- 50 ft (15.24 m) – Part # 301006-X50
We can build a custom length sensor to your specified length for a small surcharge. Note that Standard length sensors are typically in stock. Custom-length sensors can take one to two weeks of additional lead time. Contact us to discuss your custom length sensor needs.
Sensor Measurement Intervals
We configure the sensor to measure concrete temperatures at any time interval required (usually specified by the customer). Once a sensor reaches its internal capacity of 2,048 total temperature readings, new data will continue to be collected but will roll over and overwrite the oldest data. However, you will never lose collected data as long as you save the sensor file within COMMAND Center™ software.
For example, if the sensor needs to measure the concrete temperature every 30 minutes (as required for concrete maturity applications per ASTM C 1074), then the sensor will hold about 42 days of consecutive temperature readings taken 30 minutes apart. If you save the sensor data in COMMAND Center™ software before 42 days, you will not lose any data. You could monitor and store a sensor’s data for years if you needed to!
When buying COMMAND Center™ Sensors, you need to specify which measurement interval is required for your project, from 1 to 255 minutes. If you have questions as to what time interval to choose, we can help!
