Description

H-2956AU

Automatic 3-Cylinder End Grinder, 415V 50Hz 3phase

Supports the following standards: ASTM C39

The unit is safe and economical. This unit comes with accessories for grinding, 4″ (100 mm) and 6″ (150 mm) cylinders.  Fragile or low-strength materials can be finished satisfactorily. The automatic cylinder feeding decreases skills needed for operation while further increasing safety. The end grinder is conveniently mounted on lockable castors providing easy mobility, and is relatively small in size, so storage space is kept to a minimum.

Typical flatness 20-30 micron, and typical squareness to the sides of 0.5 -1.0 degrees which is better than the 50 micron/3 degrees required by Australian standards.

Features:

  • Grinds planeness and parallelism of test cylinder ends
  • Planeness Accuracy: 0.002″ (0.05mm)
  • Grinding Time: 90 to 120 seconds per end
  • Ready to use for 6″ x 12″ (150mm x 300mm), 4″ x 8″ (100mm x 200mm) test cylinders
  • Wheel life is 25,000 to 50,000 samples for removal of 1.5mm of material with strengths of 10MPA to 100MPA*.
  • Easy access to water inlet and outlet
  • Diamond-grinding wheel included
  • Supplied with two plastic splash guards
  • The cycle is totally automatic. Once the grinding cycle has started the process continues without the need of an operator.
  • The noise level without samples is 59 decibels, with three test pieces and feed of 0.3mm/min is 73 decibels, and with feed of 0.6mm/min is 75 decibels. The noise level is low enough to allow the machine to be used in a laboratory without additional sound proofing.

*Life depends on the hardness of the materials and the amount removed and adequate flushing water supply.

The machine also includes a flushing system, with a water spray onto the back of the grinding disc backup plate which flushes material off the back of the plate and out of the slurry tray at the bottom of the grinding disc. This modification minimises the need to regularly clean the back of the grinding disc mounting plate and prevents swing arm failures. It would require a second needle valve, a second spray nozzle, various tubes and fittings and several mounting brackets.

A water recirculation system is recommended. Supplied as an optional item. See H-2956AU.09
