The Soil Box can be used with both resistivity meters for a quick and accurate measurement of the resistivity of a soil or water sample in the field or laboratory. Construction is clear plastic with stainless steel current plates and brass potential pins. The dimensions are such that the measured resistivity with the Resistivity Meter, when the box is filled level, can be expressed in ohm-centimeter, making calculations unnecessary.

NOTE:
- When using multi-meters be sure readings on both meters are obtained simultaneously.
- Potential must be in volts, current must be in amperes to obtain result in ohm-cm.
- Multiplication factor for the H-4386 soil box is 1.
- When used with the H-4385 or H-4385D Soil Resistance Meters, no calculations are necessary because the multiplication factor is 1 ohm-cm. Therefore, the resistivity value of the sample can be read directly off the meter dial/display.
