Standard Test Sieves

Standard Test Sieves

Test Sieves are precision instruments used across industries to measure particle-size distribution and ensure quality control for materials such as soil, aggregates, pharmaceuticals, and food.

ASTM Test Sieves

ASTM test sieves conform to the American standard ASTM E11. They are the industry benchmark in North America for particle analysis. These sieves use US Standard mesh sizes (measured in inches or mesh numbers like #40, #200) and are typically available in 8-inch or 12-inch diameter brass or stainless steel frames.
    • Main Use: Dry particle size analysis of aggregates, sand, soil, chemicals, and manufactured powders in American-regulated laboratories and industrial settings.

ISO Test Sieves

ISO test sieves conform to the international standard ISO 3310. They are widely used in Europe and globally to ensure standardisation across international borders. Unlike ASTM sieves, ISO sieves designate opening sizes strictly in metric units (millimetres or micrometres) and typically feature frame diameters of 200 mm or 300 mm.
    • Main Use: Global quality control and material testing where international compliance is mandatory, spanning civil engineering, mining, and pharmaceutical production.

Wet Washing Sieves

Wet washing sieves are specialised sieves designed with deep frames (typically 4 to 8 inches deep) to allow liquids to be used during the separation process. They feature reinforced mesh to withstand water pressure and often include a top-rim drain or a bottom spout to wash fine particles through without spilling.
  • Main Use: Separating ultra-fine particles (smaller than 75 microns) from larger grains by using water or a liquid solvent to break up agglomerated materials, commonly used in soil mechanics, clay testing, and mineral processing.
