Wet-wash sieves are used in the determination of fines content or to wash away fines when preparing samples for particle size testing. Sieves, for Wet Washing with Replaceable Mesh

Supports the following standards: AASHTO M92

These sieves feature cost-effective, replaceable sieve cloth and mesh backups, which extend cloth life, as well as allow quick replacement of damaged screens. Sieves are available in either No. 200 or 325 mesh sizes with a No. 10 backup screen included. Screen material is held securely between rubber gaskets and bolted to the frame. Replacement sieve material is available in sizes 20 mesh and finer— call for availability.

Corps of Engineers Wash Screen Assembly

Supports the following standards: AASHTO M92

Wash screen assembly is used to wash out fines from samples of base coarse materials. It is used for a rapid check of minus No. 200 fines in aggregate and soil samples. Assembly has a 10 to 12 lb. (4.5 to 5.4kg) capacity. It includes a 12″ (305mm) dia. x 10″ deep (254mm) brass frame with a No. 200 mesh detachable screen with a No. 10 backup screen for support. The assembly also includes a lift-out, No. 10 overload screen at midpoint. Easily disassembles for cleaning and replacing mesh.

Washers for Aggregates

Aggregate Washers are used to automatically wash samples and remove particles and inconsistencies. Better results are achieved than by hand washing in the process of passing the wash water through a No. 200 sieve which prevents the loss of oversize material. Water is continuously fed into the drum and the sample is agitated until the it becomes clear, meaning that the fines have been sufficiently removed from the sample.

Humboldt’s Heavy Duty Aggregate Washers have a 15 lb. (6.8kg) capacity with a 10.75” dia. X 13” D (27 x 33cm) diameter revolving drum that is designed to lock in four angle positions. Washers are available in 120V 60Hz and 220V 50Hz models.

Standard Aggregate Washers are available in two sizes, one built for processing of larger aggregate and soil samples up to 15 lb. (7kg) and the other designed for washing geotechnical or smaller aggregate samples of 6-8 lb. (2.7-3.6kg). The drum is removed by swiveling the gooseneck water tube aside. Both size models come with enclosed gear motors for drum rotation and include power cords and GFCI plugs and available in both 120V 60Hz and 220V 50/60Hz.

All Humboldt Aggregate Washers are designed to eliminate the high cost and time required for manual methods and conform to ASTM C535, ASTM C117 and AASHTO T11 standards. No. 200 sieves are available – sold separately.
